A Truth Journal: Ukraine: God Hates Liars And That Means You Putin

ukraine

A Truth Journal: Ukraine: God Hates Liars And That Means You Putin: From Denny:  Listen up, Darling Vlad; you cannot split the difference with God.  You were given a short list of simple tasks to do in this Ukraine situation to help you exit gracefully, and, still you chose only to do a small portion and just send diplomatic envoys for uncommitted talks?  Then you hold a press conference to issue lies and ultimatums?  Perhaps you really are delusional as Germany's Merkel muses.

Best Spiritual Posts: Christmas Music: Susan Boyle Sings "Miracle Hymn" From Movie "The Christmas Candle"

Best Spiritual Posts: Christmas Music: Susan Boyle Sings "Miracle Hymn" From Movie "The Christmas Candle": From Denny:  The Christmas season is a time for reflection upon what we thought was the impossible to even dare to dream entering the realm of the possible and becoming our new reality.  We call that a miracle because it is so very rare!  If ever there was a story to illustrate the impossible becoming the possible it's the story of singer Susan Boyle's meteoric rise to fame.  She has recently been diagnosed with autism as an adult.  While it's been a rocky road for her she has been creating her life balance and is doing well.

Best Spiritual Posts: Music: Amazing Grace By Hayley Westenra: From Denny:  It's always refreshing to see what the newest generation does with a traditional standard, especially the Christian ones.  Hayley Westenra performs her wonderful rendition of a difficult song to sing, both emotionally and artistically.

Beautiful Illustrated Quotations: 14 Awesome Friendship Quotes To Get You Thinking

Beautiful Illustrated Quotations: 14 Awesome Friendship Quotes To Get You Thinking: "From Denny: Lately, so much has been happening at a dizzying pace, especially the difficulty of the chaotic economy and harrowing jobs situation for millions of people worldwide.

When turbulent times are upon us it can sure cause us to think about the many wonderful friends we've enjoyed over the years. Many are in other countries now, some passed away young, others are in turmoil from divorce or other trauma. Many others have raised families, wondering what to do with the rest of their lives.

I've certainly had my fair share of interesting friends in my life. There were those to whom I was a better friend to them than they were to me. The reverse is true of those who were much older - and definitely wiser - who helped guide me when I needed it most - that I was not the friend I wished I had been for them at that point in time. But mentors know and accept that truth. They get their laugh when it's your turn to mentor and the process starts all over again. :)

These interesting heartfelt quotes are certainly an eclectic check list to assess if you are being the kind of friend you desire to be to others. And it might be eye-opening to assess if others are being the kind of friend you need right now too."

Swirling Thoughts

*** A poem about how we are all so connected that one person's misfortune feels like our own. This is a poem for the people of Haiti in their hour of need following a high scale earthquake that left rubbled ruin across the country - because this is what a Social Issues Poet (SIP) writes...

The cathedral of Port-au-Prince is badly damaged, yet remains standing. Photograph: Frederic Dupoux/Getty Images

From Denny:  This post and poem was written on 14 January 2010, just days after the earthquake shook Haiti into rubble.  It's been over 18 months and the country is still recovering slowly.  All that pledged help from other countries did not materialize on the level they promised, including America.  What help did arrive is still stored in warehouses because no one thought to bring over trucks and hire drivers to deliver the food across the countryside.  The American Red Cross has a dismal record for this disaster, delivering more pontificating air than help.

This post really gives you a snapshot in time about how many people were feeling and thinking all over the world when word reached them about Haiti's misfortune.  What's the good news?  My musical missionary cousin is doing fine now.  She survived the earthquake with some bumps and bruises, wrote a book about her experience during and after the earthquake.  This April she married a Haitian doctor who is a fabulous man, a real tribute to his country.  Life renews and begins again!

Dennys: News Politics Comedy Science Arts & Food: Posts Roundup at Dennys Blogs - 12 June 2011

Dennys: News Politics Comedy Science Arts & Food: Posts Roundup at Dennys Blogs - 12 June 2011: "From Denny: Check out what has been happening in the world of news, comedy, food, poetry, photography, art, music and more. In the past month a whirlwind of news occurred. World terrorist Osama bin Laden was hunted down and killed in a resort town in Pakistan where he had been hiding for the past six years. Supposedly, the Pakistanis were unaware of his presence there. Yeah? And I've got some swamp land in Louisiana to sell you too.

President Obama got a nice bump in approval ratings for about a week and then that fizzled as he resumed his usual do-nothing stance on the economy. Obama also continued with poisonous politics aimed at his own Democrats, throwing them all under the bus in favor of Big Business."

earthquake japan

Dennys: News Politics Comedy Science Arts & Food: Posts Roundup at Dennys Blogs - 17 April 2011: "While the Japanese nuclear crisis continues unabated, the rest of the world has moved on, dreading the inevitable. At the moment the world community has pressured Japan to come up with a plan to contain or deal with the crisis over a nine month period.

Why the same people are in charge of this mess that created the mess is a mystery. It's as foolish as it was to trust BP to clean up the oil spill disaster in my own Gulf of Mexico. Serious hardships still exist as a result of President Obama and BP refusing to do what it takes to make things right, especially in Louisiana.

At the very least the President could do is refuse to allow BP access to any of America's oil fields on or off shore. The company has simply not earned the right to drill for oil on American soil or in our oceans."

New Years Reflection: Wine Glass Abyss

*** In spite of all the negatives going on around us in our daily life these things shall soon pass. Keep your balance and strive to better the world.

New Year’s Reflection: Wine Glass Abyss

An hour before midnight we lounge on the couch, distracted,
Tuning the best channels to watch New Year’s Eve fireworks,
Bursting with exuberance into the sky, circling the world.
That exciting intangible something, witnessing global celebrations.

Swirling the clear liquid, sparkling in the firelight, a white sip caresses.
I wondered to myself about what this New Year and decade will bring.
Looking down into the glass my thoughts tumbled into its clear abyss
The wine tasted faintly musky, bringing visions of a frosted autumn vineyard.

New Year’s Eve celebration, the wine, the winter season invite inner reverie,
When we frail humans wonder about our futures, remembering fondly the good.
The chaotic “00’s” of this dawning century tested our patience and hope.
We move through Time, gingerly, toe-dipping the cooling waters.

Finally, it’s the last day of the calendar year. As glad we are it is dying,
We are also apprehensive the unknown is beginning, taking us anywhere.
The decade blasted off with the “Y2K” scare that soon fizzled, over-hyped.
The millennium prophets trumpeted rising global flood waters, swallowing countries.

An American President stole not one but two Presidential elections and local too.
Arriving at the end of the decade still no justice for dismissed votes, voices denied.
Islamic terrorists attacked Christian America and roused the sleeping tiger to act.
America attacked Islamic countries, occupied them and remains there too many years.

The world economy crashed when the financial house of cards could no longer stand.
Unregulated greed, the driving force of capitalism, destroyed wealth and the middle class.
The greedy chase, wanting it all, desire never fulfilled, impacting lives all around.
The greedy and the wise lock in a whirling uncertain dance to gain power and authority.

A decade of dizzying violence and careening human greed hatched backlash karma.
Worldwide the people are restless, angry, resentful, worried, wondering and hungry.
There are those who preach it is the “End Times” of humanity, just look at the signs.
Yet the signs, the greed, the economic chaos and war exist in every century, just read.

The ancient cultures of the Mayan, the Egyptians and others warn the end comes in 2012.
Already the profit makers hype the fear in movies so people will buy, buy, buy to not die.
They offer answers that are general, only interpretations of what might come to be.
Clearly what may come we cannot stop as our world changes around us, we must adapt.

For the moment the voices of balance drown in the screaming minds everywhere.
The Peace makers stand ready, schooled in unorthodox solutions for a troubled world.

The angels hold their breath, praying success as humanity struggles toward maturity.
Humanity’s rising high fever is soon to break when suddenly awakening to all is well,

Everywhere, everyone aligns perfectly like the Universe, Peace in the new era.

Rock, My Children

A poem written during the 911 anniversary that talks about dealing with profound loss, the death of a child.

From Denny: Lately, I've been running across a lot of news stories talking about loss, in particular the loss of a child, and suddenly a rash of news stories about miscarriage, not exactly something you see talked about in the news. It also happens to be the anniversary of the dreaded 911 when terrorists cruelly killed thousands of loving people from all over the world in the New York City Twin Towers bombing, impacting families for generations to come.

So, it hit me that too many people are dealing with loss right now, the kind of loss that is severe disappointment to put it mildly. Miscarriage is often a lonely burden of which it seems other women in particular choose to be insensitive and do not seem to sympathize - unless it has happened to them. You can read as far back as the Old Testament Bible where women with children jeered and taunted women unable to bear children.

People think the accounts in the Bible are just story-telling. Well, there is a reason for those stories left for us down through the ages: do we recognize ourselves as one of the characters in those stories? If we do, what are we going to do about it?

A lot of people have asked me over the years how to deal with deep emotional and spiritual pain as it just seems too unbearable. My answer has always been the same: grieve, grieve some more, force yourself to keep moving forward, but most of all, keep looking to the future for the revelation of why your Life Plan took this turn. If you ask the question, you recieve the answer: eventually, which can take years before you are ready to see and accept the answer. You will be pleasantly surprised that what you thought was such a terrible thing turned out to be a small sacrifice for how you ended up benefiting humanity.

Can I tell you that this poem was a tough write? Too personal, I suppose... Many families are dealing with loss right now by the loss of a loved one be it a child, a parent, a spouse. Divorce is a similiar lonely burden like miscarriage, something others do not seem to fully understand any better than one or both of the divorced people.

This poem was written on this sorrowful anniversary of 911 to echo the pain and sadness of those suffering personal loss. This poem is also a personal recounting of my own struggle with loss after loss, way too many miscarriages that wrecked my physical health for a number of years until I figured out how to heal myself.

This is also the true story of an adult special child who instantly was drawn to my rocking chair I had purchased, stained and varnished, then prayed lots of love into for rocking my own children who never came (or so I thought at the time).

This special child wanted to take the rocker back to their home center for all the other kids to share with her. She said a lot of the parents had quit coming to visit their children and the kids were lonely.

What had happened is that the parents were dead. Their closest relatives lived several states away from the state facility. My heart went out to her and instantly I agreed to give her the rocker. Plus, in my heart I knew there was something unusual and wonderful transpiring here as God was at work through this special child.

I went to visit that facility months later after the gift of the rocker and witnessed first hand the supreme satisfaction of the adult residents. The caretakers were quick to tell me all the stories associated with the rocker and that it seemed to have special magical powers, instantly calming and soothing whoever sat in it and rocked. Many of the residents suffered terrible seizures because of brain injuries yet were calmed when placed in the rocker, recovering faster than usual from their episodes. Many of the adult special children suffered from severe epilepsy and other issues so this rocker was a healer too. I could not ask for anything better to learn.

Fifteen years later the revelation came of my niche in Life and it was quite a surprise, a pleasant surprise! You may find your purpose in Life is far larger than you ever intended or expected too.

Rock, My Children

When disappointment creeps near
After dreams are shattered
Our hearts mourn slowly
Yearning for what never lived

When others seem so happy
After we experience loss
Our hearts grieve longer
Yearning for what they enjoy

When we cannot understand
After chasing dream to dream
Our hearts flutter in hope
Yearning to finally succeed

When sitting in the lonely rocker
After the child has died
Our hearts sink deeper down
Yearning to feel their tiny presence

When rocking ourselves to sleep
After crying away our dream
Our hearts seek to mend us
Yearning to heal seared wounds

When our thoughts turn to children
After grieving months, even years
Our hearts feel hopelessly stuck
Yearning to know the why of Life’s Plan

When we feel like pieces of ourselves
After striving to move forward in Time
Our hearts still cry for what was not
Yearning to find meaning in the loss

When other women judge us harshly
After deciding we must not want children
Our hearts grieve, hurting worse
Yearning to know sisterly compassion

When one day fifteen years later our answer came
After drowning far too long in sadness
Our hearts look out to find a seeking child
Yearning, pointing to our rocker with delight

When the rocker is claimed wonderfully as their own
After touching, feeling the embedded loving prayers
Our hearts leap up to gather this new child close
Yearning to know where to send the unused Love

The rocker finally found a new home much needed
For years the lonely rocker filled with smiling special children
Adult special children cuddled gladly in its reassuring embrace
Renewed by a mother’s love so strong thy sighed with safe content

When the Never Mothers’ own children were lost
After Life dealt one seemingly cruel hand
Our hearts soon mended in Love and purpose
Yearning to see revealed the truth of what was meant to be

Mothers’ Love was not meant to be confined to a few
Mothers’ Love is eternally sent out to all those in need
Life’s Plan was to embrace the children of the world

Rock, my children
Rock in the knowing
You are well loved

Rock, My Children…
