From Denny:  Writing poetry is so perfect a medium to express this type of unusual experience.  Have you ever experienced some odd situations that afterward you realized were an angelic visitation?

It started out as a meeting in the grocery store when a strange old man started talking to me - and kept talking.  I went to the store for my weekly groceries and came away with so much more:  validation I was on the right track in life.

Angels often interact with us in the strangest of ways.  They first appear to be mundane and predictable until the awareness seeps in, that the meeting was so much more than at first glance.  Check out what this old man had to say.  Have you ever had similar odd experiences only to realize years later how special it was?

Poems From A Spiritual Heart: Snowing The Perfect Balance: From Denny: The morning was so very perfect, enjoying the falling snow, cuddling into the silence snow brings, that it brought out a snow poem that I combined with the idea of how our perceptions affect our sense of Time. Sometimes, Time seems too slow when we are impatient; sometimes it goes too fast when we are afraid. Other moments we miss because of how we angle our emotions of frustration or sadness or even joy into our perception of how Time flows in our lives. This is my contribution to Valentine's Day. When The Angels Cry For Us

How do we look to outside observers as we live our lives, especially those of us who do not grow, re-think our approach and change from our experiences?

What About Angels?

From Denny:  Humanity spends a lot of time agonizing over "what other people think" about them. What if we are observed by what we cannot physically see - yet sense on a deeper level?

What if angelic beings are real and just exist in a veiled close dimension of time but are not present in our exact time and space? How do you think they might perceive our daily lives and choices as they are witness to our time here on Earth?

Forever playing the "what if?" game - and other virtually useless mind wanderings I am prone to do like most writers and poets - came the following poem concerning humanity's free will.  How many people have you observed who, sadly, live like this? I've known far too many who keep recycling the same unproductive choices and often contemplated if they realize how they appear to those around them.

From Denny: I’ve always worked from the inside out. Yet in the West, and especially in America, our culture tends to work from the outside, ignoring the "inside self" the majority of the time. And we wonder why America is a drug-plagued society with so much emotional and spiritual pain? There isn’t enough loving going around: yourself - as well as the stranger standing next to you!

You can love yourself without resorting to selfishness, stinginess or self-absorption. Just take good care of yourself as much as you would someone you value highly. Your world will improve dramatically when you adopt this philosophy.

Those Funny Memories

From Denny: It is odd how the mind works, never knowing what will rise to the surface sometimes, no matter how organized and methodical you fancy yourself to be. I've often wondered what triggers old memories, especially the ones that make us chuckle. Since I had so many sad memories from childhood, it is easy for me to easily find the happier ones that make me grin since they are fewer in number. This cute one is what I share with you today.

New Year’s Reflection: Wine Glass Abyss


An hour before midnight we lounge on the couch, distracted,
Tuning the best channels to watch New Year’s Eve fireworks,
Bursting with exuberance into the sky, circling the world.
That exciting intangible something, witnessing global celebrations.







Swirling the clear liquid, sparkling in the firelight, a white sip caresses.
I wondered to myself about what this New Year and decade will bring.
Looking down into the glass my thoughts tumbled into its clear abyss
The wine tasted faintly musky, bringing visions of a frosted autumn vineyard.







New Year’s Eve celebration, the wine, the winter season invite inner reverie,
When we frail humans wonder about our futures, remembering fondly the good.
The chaotic “00’s” of this dawning century tested our patience and hope.
We move through Time, gingerly, toe-dipping the cooling waters.







Finally, it’s the last day of the calendar year. As glad we are it is dying,
We are also apprehensive the unknown is beginning, taking us anywhere.
The decade blasted off with the “Y2K” scare that soon fizzled, over-hyped.
The millennium prophets trumpeted rising global flood waters, swallowing countries.







An American President stole not one but two Presidential elections and local too.
Arriving at the end of the decade still no justice for dismissed votes, voices denied.
Islamic terrorists attacked Christian America and roused the sleeping tiger to act.
America attacked Islamic countries, occupied them and remains there too many years.







The world economy crashed when the financial house of cards could no longer stand.
Unregulated greed, the driving force of capitalism, destroyed wealth and the middle class.
The greedy chase, wanting it all, desire never fulfilled, impacting lives all around.
The greedy and the wise lock in a whirling uncertain dance to gain power and authority.







A decade of dizzying violence and careening human greed hatched backlash karma.
Worldwide the people are restless, angry, resentful, worried, wondering and hungry.
There are those who preach it is the “End Times” of humanity, just look at the signs.
Yet the signs, the greed, the economic chaos and war exist in every century, just read.







The ancient cultures of the Mayan, the Egyptians and others warn the end comes in 2012.
Already the profit makers hype the fear in movies so people will buy, buy, buy to not die.
They offer answers that are general, only interpretations of what might come to be.
Clearly what may come we cannot stop as our world changes around us, we must adapt.







For the moment the voices of balance drown in the screaming minds everywhere.
The Peace makers stand ready, schooled in unorthodox solutions for a troubled world.







The angels hold their breath, praying success as humanity struggles toward maturity.
Humanity’s rising high fever is soon to break when suddenly awakening to all is well,







Everywhere, everyone aligns perfectly like the Universe, Peace in the new era.

When the seasons change in our life.

Louisiana Summer Sigh


The July summer heat
Puffed its cheeks out
Like a pouting stubborn child
Told, “Go to bed, now!”

The hundred degree scorching
Soared as hot as that child’s temper
Weighing down the droopy moist air
Like that child’s protruding lower lip.

The scent of change wafted near
Fluttering sweetly on dragonfly wings
Ghostly mid-July presence announced
“Fall approaches; change is coming.”

The heat slowed from fever pitch
Like the child’s temper calming a bit
Then mid-August Perseid meteor showers
Chased high across the sky, amused our inner child.

The heavy August moon, huge eyes hung low
Pointed the way, “Look up! Change is coming!”
The night sky’s face moved different in one instant
Like the child’s, transformed new starred wonder.

The breezes stirred more often late summer
Growing stronger, more bold in their invite
Cooler weather calmed stormy tempers
Like the hugging arms of a patient mother.

The hurricane season of stormy tempers passed
The child’s once fuming countenance restored
Fall lovingly dried the moist air’s heavy tears
Like the child’s face lifted up to his mother’s

All smiles and joy. Breathe.

A Thought

Have you ever thought about the hidden words behind the words spoken out loud?

A Thought


I heard a thought today
spoken with beauty words
and an ugly uncaring heart
it made my heart sink down

and fall with a painful thud







the day traveled on and
then there was a simple man
who spoke his mind and
gave plain words from love

my heart looked up again

Rain Blessings

Native Americans divide rain into the two categories of nurturing Mother Rain and destructive Father Rain.

From Denny: I was reminded of the Native American thoughts about rain. They divide rain into Mother Rains and Father Rains. The Mother Rains are soft and nurturing, helping growth and beginning a life anew. The Father Rains are destructive, destroying all that was built because it was shown to be upon a false foundation or it was time to tear it down to build something better.

We all love the nurturing easy soft rains but are in fear of the harsh loud severe storms. The Native Americans lived in Nature, observed Nature and learned from Nature. Today we are too removed from Nature and have forgotten so many of our ancestors' wisdom about balance and harmony. This poem is to bring back our ancient memories we all own so we can live fuller - and happier - lives.



Rain Blessings







Life encircles, waits and teaches
Gently offering Mother Rain
Nurturing, healing and growing









Life surrounds, exploits and disciplines
Harshly demanding Father Rain
Judging, crashing and destroying









The Rain of Sorrows weighs heavy
Loading our hearts’ pockets like stones
May the Sun of Love slip safely into your heart









Drying up brimming waters of gloomy sorrows
Transforming sorrow stones to nothing dust
Blown away easily in one quick strong breath









The Rain of Troubles appear unexpectedly
Cramming our minds with screaming worry rats
May the Sun of Wisdom sit down on your doorstep









Lighting your inner lantern onto a new inspiring path
Dissolving lack of harmony with one powerful thought









The Rain of Worries and Fears hover overhead stagnant
Soaking our valley of desires like a rushing flash flood









May the Sun of Understanding speak words of calm
Welcoming the rational return of wordless balance
Banishing like a wizard what lingers as unimportant









When the Rains come welcome them all in your Life
Mother Rain as nurturing, Father Rain as destroying
Purpose, understanding, growth through trial they bring










From the Rain of Sorrows we leave behind the past
From the Rain of Troubles we leave behind resentment
From the Rain of Worries and Fears we leave behind mistrust









Heal your disappointments and come back into harmony









Nurture your happiness and create your inner peace









Grow your courage to reach out beyond yourself to Love
